Playboy Magazine (Summer 2019)

As Executive Editor of Playboy's Summer 2019 issue — a 234-page exploration of the future of gender and sexuality — I published one of the most diverse collections of writers, photographers, celebrities, models, and thought leaders to appear alongside one another in the formidable magazine. Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, #MeToo founder Tarana Burker, Surviving R Kelly executive producer dream hampton, trans activist Geena Rocero, Grammy winner Maren Morris, esteemed author Joyce Carol Oates, and veteran photographer Ed Freeman all contributed unique perspectives on how our societal relationship with gender and sexuality is shifting. The cover, shot by Freeman, was short-listed as one of 2019's best by the American Society of Magazine Editors. The issue also nabbed Playboy its first-ever GLAAD Media Award nomination and featured an eight-page investigation on the dangers of conversion therapy to benefit The Trevor Project.
